Thank you for visiting Bulgarian
Breaks. If you're here, you're probably looking for a
cheap property in Bulgaria.
If you want to know the cost of this Bulgarian investment property, please visit
the sale particulars page at BG Home
services (property 06588). If you want to
find out more about this fantastic and virtually undiscovered
South East part of Bulgaria, then read on!
I've often found, that when I'm searching for properties,
the property obviously takes priority and details about the area are pretty
vague, "fantastic clean air", "wonderful
nature"?! What use is that to someone planning a viewing
trip or hoping to buy their dream home? I hope that by looking
through my website, combined with the sales particulars
elsewhere, you will be able to make a more informed decision
when taking this big and exciting step!
Before we go any further, some brief details about Bulgaria:
Population: About 8.5 million.
Area: About 111 000 sq km.
Capital: Sofia (and jolly nice it is too).
Official language: Bulgarian (but you'll survive with English
and gesticulating).
Religion: Freedom of Religion.
Government: Parliamentary Republic.
Currency: Lev - for now..
Roads: Mostly good to fair.
People: A pleasure to meet..
Getting There:
We generally fly to Burgas
(Bourgas) courtesy of many of the package
tour flights that head on over to Sunny Beach, Varna etc and
stay overnight at a little place in Bourgas called the Hotel
Chiplakoff - it's excellent, cheap and more details are on the
Burgas
page.
We've also flown to Sofia and caught a bus across country for
about 10 lev each (3 quid or so at the time). It was a bumpy
ride...
If you want to visit in Winter for a skiing holiday, then you will have to fly to
Sofia and take it from there. You will also need to get down
to London for the flight out. However, lots more flights are
now going to Bulgaria than even 2 years ago, so availability
should vastly improve (and prices go down) in the near future.
For information on all aspects of buying property, I can
recommend UK based BG
Home Services LTD, simply because I use their services and
have no complaints yet.
Houses can be very cheap, but true bargains are getting harder
to find as house prices are increasing all the time.
Basically, the cheaper the house, the more that will have to
be spent on it to bring it up to a UK living standard. Buy a
cheap 3
bed detached house for £10000, expect to spend £15-20000 or
so in doing it up. Buy a house for £20000 expect to spend £5-10000
to finish it to a UK standard.
Now, with the Bulgarian economy more stable, the prices are
more realistic, but still represent incredible investment
value, with the annual growth in property values still at
around 20%.
If you're not interested in annual growth rates or
investment potential and just want a holiday/retirement home
in a beautiful and emerging Country, then this site is the
right place to be!
